Tycho Brahe Station / tb-solar-array

Narrator BOT 15-Mar-26 04:19 PM
In comparison to the otherwise in-tact station, the solar array is nearly ripped apart due to the area of the station being closest to the star. Bulkheads are preventing people from getting sucked out into space and the cloud of destroyed solar panel debris floating around it, but the way the metal all around the rescue team is creaking, the bulkheads may not last long.

It was a good thing you couldn't hear the second layer of dialogue in an Ocampa's head or this episode would cease to be PG-13. Salris wasn't an engineer. She looked around for anything handheld to possibly seal or tie together the bulkhead. Like crafting tape on a bullet wound, but was there anything better to do?

Could she see anybody passed out? Anyone who'd know better?

Klaa entered the room looking for controls
17:56
“let’s see what magic I can make happen.” She joked.

She nodded to Klaa and scanned the room for anyone compromised. (edited)

Beyond the solar array control area being nearly turned into slag metal, the staff inside weren't looking much better. There were crewmembers floating, unable to move in the Zero-gravity atmosphere. CW: Injury There was one notable crewmember, a lieutenant, who had been pinned up against the wall - a sharp and jagged scrap of metal stuck out of her shoulder, turning the uniform around it a deep shade of crimson. There was another, floating closest to the rapidly-heating bulkhead, their arm bent the wrong way, yet trying their best to work with their good hand.

Ens. Klaa N’garen | ENG BOT 15-Mar-26 06:06 PM
She headed over to the lieutenant. “someone come help get this out of them. What do you need me to do?” She asked.

Ens. Salris | OPS BOT 15-Mar-26 06:07 PM
Salris took a careful breath and tapped her combadge. She didn't know if it'd be recieved. "Medical emergency in Solar Array." Her voice cut out as she treaded over to the bulkhead, searching for open eyes in the floating people as she went by— seeing what crew was conscious enough to be moved back into their positions. She landed with the farmer still tucked under her arm and turned to the crooked-armed operative. "Do you want help?"

Narrator BOT 15-Mar-26 06:13 PM
The operative, who upon observation turned out to be an Ensign, looked at Salris, then at the console he was working on, then back at Salris, his voice shaky and panicked. "No I- I can't leave yet, there's someone still in the airlock- it's sealed but I can't get this damn inner door open!"
Avatar
Ens. Klaa N’garen | ENG BOT 15-Mar-26 06:16 PM
“Here, let me take a look.” She offered, going over to the console.

She made space for Klaa and stayed with the injured ensign. "It can't be just us holding this together. You're going to help me bring our crew back." She reached into her pocket where she kept the few things she predicted would help her on the away mission— and pulled out a single dose of painkiller. The ensign's broken arm went numb, and their function arm was gestured toward an incapacitated crew member with nothing to hold onto. She walked off to grab a similar one, a bit uncaringly moving them towards the bulkhead to find their footing, and said to them: "We have to stop this thing before it breaks." (edited)

“I know!” She huffed at Salris. “The whole system is on the fritz. And this damn door.” Klaa growled.

Narrator BOT 15-Mar-26 06:32 PM
The Ensign managed to bring up a couple of readings- eyes widening as he read them. "Th- The station's stopped, we've been tractor beamed! That gives us time to get people out!" The lieutenant pinned against the wall groaned, still very conscious but unable to force words out of the pain.

Ens. Salris | OPS BOT 15-Mar-26 06:37 PM
"So we're going to let this place collapse? I—" "There's still someone behind that door!" "No! Stay here and get that officer out! Make sure the walls don't fall on us. You're our only goddamn hope!"
Avatar
Ens. Klaa N’garen | ENG BOT 15-Mar-26 06:40 PM
She continued her efforts on getting the door open. Tossing her laser cutter to Salris. “try cutting the beam. Taking it out might cause more bleeding. I will continue working on the door, for now let’s try and get the injured personal out of here.” She commanded.

As Salris and Klaa scrambled, there was an ungodly crunching sound further down the corridor as a ceiling and floor crushed flatly against each other due to the gravity of the star. It was then that the alarms suddenly…stopped, and the air in the solar array began to thin. The life support systems across the station have just been destroyed.

The Ensign, who didn't have any kind of support apparatus on, fliched at the crunching sound behind him - and knowing what just happened, began to hyperventilate. (edited)

Her eyes widened and she stopped breathing. "The ship is damaged and probably leaking. At best we have an hour. An hour." "Do not waste your breath." Hands shaking subtly, she kneeled by the Lieutenant, cutting the beam along the edge of where it hit the shoulder and letting it float away.
18:48
She pressed an oxygen mask onto his numbing face and picked him up by the waist, almost stacking him with the stirring farmer. (edited)

Shit, shit , shit! “anyone who can move grab some who can’t and make your way to the docking bay. Don’t waste time or air.” She demanded. Vigorously pushing buttons on the console.

She peeked at the supply levels on the far wall. "Make that thirty fucking minutes."

Thankfully, with the solar array being one of the volatile places on the ship for events like this, everyone else here had been evacuated by the Lauderdale, leaving the Ensign, the lieutenant pinned against the wall, and the officer currently trapped in the airlock.

Lt. JG. Iro Dehn | NPC BOT 15-Mar-26 06:52 PM
Speaking of, the Lieutenant in question was rapidly losing consciousness even with the oxygen mask now applied- a combination of shock, pain and intense heat would definitely do that to someone.
Avatar
Ens. Salris | OPS BOT 15-Mar-26 06:53 PM
"Listen." She grunted, simply placing the second mask over the face of the panicked ensign. "Listen to me. No matter what you do now, time is going to pass. You're running out of it."
18:54
"Klaa won't leave you alone here. Do what she says. Get him out. Keep your head. You're all going to be fine."

Ens. Klaa N’garen | ENG BOT 15-Mar-26 06:55 PM
“Once the Lt. if free take them and the Ensign out of here. I will stay and take care of the one in the air lock.” She yelled at Salris. “I don’t have time for this!”
Avatar
Narrator BOT 15-Mar-26 06:57 PM
The Ensign pulled the straps of the mask over his head, like one would with if they were on a plane. He took some deep breaths, seemingly calming down akin to breathing into a paper bag. "I think... I'm okay, I'm okay." Still in pain, but emotionally he was at least stable.

She took the last crew member by the hand and carefully led the three people attached to her towards the door.

Her eyes were fixated on the working Ensign. At the door to the hydroponics farm she scanned for Dakkil. (edited)

With Salris gone, it was just Klaa and whoever was left in the airlock. To see such a large space so empty, as the metal holding it in place creaked and groaned- it was more eerie than anything.

Ens. Salris | OPS BOT 15-Mar-26 07:02 PM
"Dakkil. I have one seriously injured, one stunned, one out. Get them medical attention in the shuttles."
19:02
She offered three very limp station officers to the Lieutenant.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Dakkil Kich | OPS BOT 15-Mar-26 07:04 PM
Dakkil nodded solemnly. Assuming the gravity was still out, that would make it both easier and harder to transport three officers to the shuttles. "Good luck, guys," it said before starting the journey back.

’Damn this stupid door!’ She thought, trying not to talk to conserve the air. If she couldn’t get it open here she would have to go and she if she could do it manually.

Salris sent him a four-fingered salute. She'd make her way towards #tb-docking-bay , but slowly, scanning the walls for controls to emergency life support. Maybe she could supply something to the people still trying to get out. Buy just a little more time.

The manual override was still intact- but barely. It would be an incredibly stiff mechanism to move, considering the internal components were beginning to melt together.

Giving up at the concle she decided to move over to the door itself. Using all of her Klingon strength, she struggled to open it despite the hot metal.

The metal on the handle was searing hot even for a Klingon- and Klaa could feel it. With the strength of a thousand suns, and with a slow groaning, the inner door of the airlock began to swing open - revealing a man on the floor, still inside his EV suit. The rank pips and the name on the chestpiece read as this person being a 'Commander Takar'. The glass of the EV suit helmet was obscured still, but the heart monitor on his wrist still registered a beat.

After a few tense moments of forcing the airlock open, another voice rang out from the entrance of the solar array, “Lieutenant Mowr, USS Fort Lauderdale! Call out!”
Avatar
Ens. Klaa N’garen | ENG BOT 15-Mar-26 07:18 PM
“Thank Klaless! In here! I have the Commander!” She responded to Mowr. Ignoring the burns on her hands she grabbed ahold of Takar and headed to the exit.

CW: Burns Moving Takar over revealed the front of his helmet, and he was in a bad way. His skin was reddened and cracked, his hair had been burnt away on the side of his head that had been on the floor, and considering the fact that the burnt area continued down out of sight it was safer to assume that his body was a similar way. His EV suit wasn't much better either, with several panels having melted and fused in a way that had pushed his suit's life support to it's very extremes.

Mowr quickly moved to where Klaa was and helped her move Takar out to safety. He winced, realizing just how badly hurt his colleague was, before helping Klaa shoulder him and starting to move out of the airlock. It was then, though, that because of the shields beginning to fail and the ships beginning evasive maneuvers that the tractor beam flickered ever so slightly. A wave of gravity passed through the solar array, and the entrance to the airlock buckled! Klaa and Takar were able to get out into the main area, but Mowr was now trapped inside! The Caitian grit his teeth, and through the gap in the metal yelled to Klaa, “Ensign! Get these people out of here! That is an order!!”
